The Committee were advised that the application had been withdrawn.

Application for a Licence for a House in Multiple Occupation Application Reference Number - 2/002 Premises - 75 Cordiner Place pdf icon PDF 801 KB

Minutes:

The Committee had before it a letter of representation.

 

Doug Yeats, Senior Private Sector Housing Officer advised that works on the premises had still to be completed, although this was not the reason it was before the Committee today.

 

The Committee heard from the respondent.

 

The Committee then heard from the applicant in support of their application.

 

The Committee resolved:-

to defer the application until the works on the premises are completed, after which time officers can grant the application under delegated powers.

Application for the Grant of a Taxi Driver's Licence - Charles James Matthew Coutts Application Reference Number - 2/003

Minutes:

The Committee had before it, a letter of observation from Police Scotland, dated 9 April 2013.

 

Sergeant Keith Middler, Police Scotland advised that the applicant had previously failed his street knowledge test and had also failed to appear for another appointment to sit the test.

 

The Committee resolved:-

to refuse the application.

EXEMPT INFORMATION

 

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1988 (principle 1), the press and public were excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item.

8.

Taxi Driver Licence (Number 0854) - Suspension Hearing (Medical)

Minutes:

The Committee had before it for consideration, correspondence from (a) Serco, the Committee’s nominated medical advisors; and (b) the Council’s Litigation and Licensing Team all relating to the holder of Taxi Driver’s licence number 0854.

 

The licence holder was not in attendance.

 

The Committee heard Paul Connolly, Solicitor, Litigation and Licensing provide background information with regard to the licence holder.

 

The Committee resolved:-

(i)         to suspend Taxi Driver Licence 0854 with immediate effect for its unexpired portion in terms of Paragraph 11 of Schedule 1 to the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982; and

(ii)        to refer the licence holder to Serco 12 months after his medical event for a further assessment of his fitness.
