With reference to article 4 of the minute of meeting of the Finance, Policy and Resources Committee of 1 December 2016, the Committee had before it a report by the Director of Resources which provided information on the current status of a site in Council ownership which was zoned for a Mosque.

The report recommended:-

that the Committee

(a)       approve the proposed terms for a new 150 year ground lease incorporating an option to purchase the site at King Street/Beach Esplanade to the Aberdeen Islamic Charitable Trust and;

(b)       instruct the Chief Officer – Governance to conclude missives for the lease and option to purchase the site incorporating various qualifications as are necessary to protect the Council’s interest.

The Committee resolved:-

to approve the recommendations.
