Issue - meetings

(i)              to note the funding being awarded by Transport Scotland for the work required to be carried out on the detrunked section of road as of 1st April 2019. (See Appendix A);

(ii)             to delegate authority to the Chief Officer – Operations and Protective Services to accept the current agreed figures with Transport Scotland; and

(iii)           to instruct the Chief Officer – Operations and Protective Services to add the agreed repairs to our current works programme and implement the required repairs in order to maintain these roads to the required standards.

The Committee had before it a report by the Chief Operating Officer which provided information on the outcome of negotiations with Transport Scotland and the financial settlement achieved for investment in the de-trunked sections of the A92 and A96.

The report recommended:-

that the Committee –

(a)            note the funding being awarded by Transport Scotland for the work required to be carried out on the detrunked section of road as of 1st April 2019. (See Appendix A of the report);

(b)            delegate authority to the Chief Officer – Operations and Protective Services to accept the current agreed figures with Transport Scotland; and

(c)            instruct the Chief Officer – Operations and Protective Services to add the agreed repairs to our current works programme and implement the required repairs in order to maintain these roads to the required standards.

The Committee resolved:-

to approve the recommendations.
