The Board had before it a letter from Police Scotland. The Board heard from Sargeant Grant and the applicant.

The Board heard from Sandy Munro who explained the Board had before it the responses from the recent consultation regarding a General Direction for 2024.

The Board unanimously resolved:

To grant an extension for 31 October; Fridays and Saturdays throughout December; and 26 December; 31 December and 1 January 2026 for all ‘on consumption’ premises who do not exceed the maximum of 15 hours continuous trading in any 24 hour period as per the Licensing Board’s Statement of Licensing Policy.

There Board had before it the proposed dates for the Licensing Board for 2025.

The Board heard from the LSO’s who advised on recent matters. This included a recent allegation of counterfeit vodka being sold across Scotland which they assisted in investigating. There was one premises within the City found to have had it in their possession. There is an ongoing investigation with Food Standards Scotland on this.

They also advised of a £2 pint promotion being offered by Greene King within the City. They spoke to management at Greene King and advised they couldn’t sell one pint for £2 and then jump up to the regular price for subsequent pints as this would breach the 72-hour conditions.

They made the Board aware of a number of premises who have not been trading for a significant time and are making some further enquiries into this, as well as premises operating under Occasional Licences for more than two years. Sandy Munro was able to give updates on a couple of the premises mentioned within the documentation.
