1.

Determination of Urgent Business

Minutes:

In terms of Standing Order 28(5)(vi), and in accordance with Section 50(B)(4)(b) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the Sub Committee was informed that it had to determine: (1) that the items on the agenda were of an urgent nature; and (2) that the Committee required to consider the items and take a decision thereon.

 

The Sub Committee resolved:

to agree that the items were of an urgent nature and required to be considered this day.

The Sub Committee had before it 2 requests for film classification for screening at Belmont Cinema as follows:-

(a)       Big Gold Dream: Scottish Post-Punk and Infiltrating the Mainstream - Suggested rating (U); and

(b)       Pyramid Texts - Suggested rating (15)

 

The Sub Committee resolved:

to approve the film classification certificates as listed above.

Public Procession - Culter Gala

Minutes:

The Committee heard Jacqui Wallace, Paralegal, Litigation and Licensing explain that a notification in respect of a proposed public procession to be held on 30 May, 2015 for Culter Gala had been submitted allowing insufficient time for the statutory 28 day notice period.

 

She intimated that the Sub Committee if it so wished, could make an Order dispensing with the requirement to provide 28 days’ notice of the procession.

 

The Sub Committee resolved:

to make an order to waive the statutory 28 day notice period.

4.

Renewal of a Taxi Driver's Licence

Minutes:

Application Reference Number – 6/11

 

The Sub Committee had before it two letters from the Committee’s nominated Occupational Health Service Provide (Optima Health) dated 14 and 28 May, 2015 in relation to the applicant.

 

The applicant was not in attendance.

 

The Sub Committee resolved:

(i)         to refuse the application;

(ii)        to allow the applicant to submit an application for a licence within the one year time period if there was a material change to his circumstances; and

(iii)       to waive the application fee and the requirement to undertake a street knowledge test if an application was so made.
