Determination of Urgent Business

Minutes:

In terms of Standing Order 28(5)(vi), and in accordance with Section 50(B)(4)(b) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the Sub Committee was informed that it had to determine: (1) that the item on the agenda was of an urgent nature; and (2) that the Sub Committee required to consider the item and take a decision thereon.

 

The Sub Committee resolved:

to agree that the item was of an urgent nature and required to be considered this day.

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DATA PROTECTION ACT 1988 (PRINCIPLE 1), THE PRESS AND PUBLIC WERE EXCLUDED FROM THE MEETING DURING CONSIDERATION OF THE FOLLOWING ITEM.

Application for the Grant of a Taxi Driver's Licence

Minutes:

The Sub Committee had before it a letter of objection from the Chief Constable, Police Scotland, c/o Aberdeen City Division dated 23 August 2016, and Inspector Kenny McGeough was in attendance to speak in its support.

 

The applicant was in attendance.

 

Inspector McGeough spoke in support of the letter of objection from Police Scotland.

 

The Committee asked questions of Inspector McGeough.

 

The Sub Committee heard from the applicant in support of his case, during which he advised that he wished to lodge two documents in respect of his submission.  Inspector McGeough advised that he had no objection to the additional documents being entered into proceedings.

 

The Sub Committee resolved:

to agree that the two documents from the applicant be entered into proceedings.

 

The Sub Committee asked questions of the applicant.

 

The Sub Committee further resolved:

to defer consideration of the application to a further meeting of the Committee to allow the applicant’s immigration application to be processed and for the applicant to re-sit the street knowledge test.
