Aberdeen City Alcohol Strategy "Stocktake" Event Programme

Minutes:

The Board had before them the programme of a “Stocktake” event to be held by Aberdeen and Drugs Partnership in support of the Aberdeen City Alcohol Strategy which was to take place on 27 October, 2011.

 

Councillors Robertson and Hunter advised the Board that they intended to attend the event.

 

The Board resolved to:-

to note the position.

The Board had before it one letter of objection.   Mr. Dawson, Solicitor, addressed the Board on behalf of the objector who was present and thereafter Ms. Robb addressed the Board on behalf of the applicant.

 

Councillor Cormie moved:-

            that the application be granted.

 

Councillor Donnelly moved as an amendment:-

            that the application be granted on condition that the activity relating to salsa dancing be restricted to terminate at 23.00 hrs on Mondays to Thursdays.

 

On a division, there voted:-  for the motion (2) – Councillors Cormie and Hunter;  for the amendment (5) – the Convener;  and Councillors Collie, Donnelly, Robertson and John West.

 

            The Board resolved:-

to grant the application subject to the imposition of the said local condition.

Ms. Mitchell, Solicitor, addressed the Board in support of the application.

The Board were advised that this application had been withdrawn.

Mr. Park, Solicitor, addressed the Board in support of the application.

 

Following concerns expressed by the Board, the applicant agreed that the age of the children being allowed entry to the premises unaccompanied by an adult would be restricted to 13 years or over.

 

            The Board resolved:-

to grant the application subject to the said condition.

Mr. Park, Solicitor, addressed the Board in support of the application.

 

Following concerns expressed by the Board, the applicant agreed that the age of the children being allowed entry to the premises unaccompanied by an adult would be restricted to 13 years or over.

The applicant appeared before the Board.

 

The Board had before it a letter from Grampian Police indicating that they had been unable to interview the applicant and therefore were unable to complete their enquiries.

 

The applicant agreed to make himself available to the Police as soon as possible in order that enquiries could be concluded.

 

            The Board resolved:-

to defer consideration of the application to allow the applicant to be interviewed by the Police and on the understanding that (a) a clear report was thereafter submitted by the police to allow the application to be granted under delegated powers;  and (b) should the police be unable to provide a clear report that application would be next considered at the Board’s meeting on 13 December, 2011.
